National Convention on LIS education by IASLIC in collaboration with JNU on 31st July, 2015 between 10 am and 4pm at Committee Room, Central Library, JNU, New Delhi
You might be aware that UGC notified in its Gazette Notification on 5th July, 2014, the nomenclature, duration and eligibility criteria in the LIS. courses namely BLib. ISc./MLib. ISc. But certain basic issues have emerged to deeply go into its structure, syllabus, rationale, social relevance and responsibility for which discussion and decisions at national level with the experts has become imperative. Keeping this in view IASLIC is going to organize a National Convention on LIS education in collaboration with JNU on 31st July, 2015 between 10 am and 4pm at Committee Room, Central Library, JNU, New Delhi.
All office bearers of IASLIC and other national library associations are invited to submit their suggestions at the above convention. Some eminent library professionals have also been invited to seek their suggestions.
With this post I invite suggestions from all library professionals pertaining to LIS Education and also academic libraries in India. Based on theses suggestions a demand charter may be prepared during the above convention and may be submitted to UGC and Ministry of HRD. Suggestions can be mailed to me or IASLIC [email protected] or [email protected] .
